The HARBOURFRONT neighbourhood extends west from Yonge Street to Bathurst Street along Queen's Quay. East of Yonge to Parliament will be know as the East-Bay front development. Front street was the water’s edge when the Town of York was founded. The HARBOURFRONT Project was launched in 1972 by PM Pierre Trudeau and has transformed the lake and industrial lands into a thriving community for the celebration of many events including the hugely successful Caribana and DragonBoat races at Harbourfront, Ontario Place and Toronto Islands.
